FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – Turning complex topics into easy-to-understand scientific discoveries, the Senior Resource Center launches an interactive science series designed for older adults.

Science Spot, taught by Corinne Sosso, will debut March 2 from 1:00p.m. to 2:30p.m.
The first class is titled Celestial Ballet – Lunar Eclipse and will help attendees to prepare for March’s total lunar eclipse by learning the science behind it, mastering moon phases, understanding key terminology and discovering how the sun, moon and Earth align to create the spectacular event.

“Science Spot is all about curiosity and connection,” said Amanda Faivre, executive director of the Senior Resource Center. “We’re thrilled to offer something new and exciting that encourages lifelong learning in a fun, welcoming environment.”
Classes will be held the first Monday of each month. Each class costs $5 to attend.
