Each of the prior two European meetings between Viktoria Plzen and Panathinaikos have finished in draws, a 0-0 stalemate during this season UEFA Europa League league phase in December 2025 and a 2-2 draw in the first leg of this play-off round tie.
This will be Panathinaikos’ first away major European visit to Czechia since a 1-0 win at Mladá Boleslav in the UEFA Cup in November 2006.
Including qualifiers, Viktoria Plzen have kept a clean sheet in 16 of their last 22 home matches in European competition, conceding just eight goals – as many as they conceded in their two home games before this run (2-4 vs both Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League).
Panathinaikos have lost their last three away major European knockout matches since a 3-2 win at Roma in February 2010 in the UEFA Europa League.
