If you’re for something that’s going to be excellent for 1440p and 4K at a very competitive price point, then the RX 9070 XT is one of the best graphics cards to go for, and a strong alternative to the RTX 5070 Ti in many respects. Its performance with pure rasterization is on par with the 5070 Ti in some games, and it has 16GB of GDDR6 memory, FSR 4 support, and improved AI and ray tracing capabilities, too. Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor
An amazing CPU for gaming and multitasking, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is a popular choice for those who are looking to squeeze out as many frames per second as possible from their graphics cards at 1440p and 4K. It builds upon the Ryzen 7 7800X3D’s success by refining its architecture for better thermals and efficiency, and with a slightly higher boost clock speed of 5.2Ghz, allowing for faster performance and improved 1% lows. Its 8 cores and 16 threads also lend themselves nicely to a wide range of multitasking activities, such as running applications in the background while gaming, streaming, and more. Storage and RAM
You’ve got 32GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM in this build, which is going to be excellent if you’re playing open-world and simulator titles. It also has notable benefits with creative workflows, offering fast, stable performance for video editing, 3D rendering, and heavy multitasking. On the storage front, you’ve got a 1TB SSD, which is okay, but not amazing if you’re splitting your time between gaming and content creation. If you’re playing a handful of games on rotation, it shouldn’t be an issue.
Things to consider
The RX 9070 XT may be a more affordable card on paper, but I’m personally starting to see RX 9070 XT prebuilds veer closer to RTX 5070 Ti territory, which does beg the question as to whether to just opt for the Nvidia alternative. With the RTX 5070 Ti, you’re going to be getting better overall performance, largely due to its higher-end GDDR7 memory, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which give it a significant AI performance advantage over the RX 9070 XT.
