Chelsea have been fined £325,000 ($438,636) and West Ham United £300,000 ($404,895) by the Football Association after a mass confrontation in last month’s match.
During Chelsea’s 3-2 league win over West Ham on January 31, the fixture was marred by what the FA called a “serious and unsightly incident” that involved both sets of players.
It was started with a coming together in the 95th minute between West Ham’s Adama Traore and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella. Forward Joao Pedro then pushed Traore, who reacted angrily, as did Jean-Clair Todibo.
Both sets of players came together, and Todibo, 26, was consequently sent off for violent conduct by referee Anthony Taylor after a video assistant referee review judged the French defender to have grabbed Pedro by the throat.

A statement from the FA read: “An independent Regulatory Commission has fined Chelsea FC and West Ham United FC for the mass confrontation at their Premier League fixture on Saturday, 31 January 2026.
“It was alleged that Chelsea FC failed to ensure its players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 95th minute. It was also alleged that West Ham United FC failed to ensure its players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative and/or violent way at this time.
“Both clubs subsequently admitted the charges against them.”
In the written reasons, the FA continued: “It is sufficient to say that both clubs contributed to the incident.”
Chelsea are next in action on Sunday when they face league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, while West Ham, who are 18th in the Premier League and two points from safety, host Liverpool at the London Stadium on Saturday.
