Greece shares higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 1.09% By Investing.com


Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the gained 1.09%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Ellaktor SA (AT:), which rose 8.35% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.38 at the close. Metlen Energy & Metals (AT:) added 5.25% or 1.84 points to end at 36.90 and Ideal Group SA (AT:) was up 4.50% or 0.26 points to 6.04 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Qualco Group SA (AT:), which lost 1.77% or 0.10 points to trade at 5.56 in late trade. Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:) declined 1.72% or 0.95 points to end at 54.40 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:) shed 1.67% or 0.20 points to 11.75.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 54 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.73% or 37.74 to $5,214.04 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.34% or 0.22 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $70.57 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 97.70.
