ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa — The Iowa Rock ’n Roll Music Association has elected Brian Kohlwes of Dubuque to its Board of Directors, representing the Northeast Iowa region.
Kohlwes, who lives in Dubuque with his wife, Morgan, works as general counsel and chief risk officer for Hirschbach Motor Lines. In that role, he oversees the company’s legal, safety, compliance and insurance operations. He also serves on the board of the Iowa Motor Truck Association and is scheduled to become its chairman for the 2026-2027 term.
In addition to his professional background, Kohlwes is an accomplished musician. A bass guitarist, he joined The Sons of Gladys Kravitz in 2002. The band was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025, with Kohlwes included as a member of the group.
In a statement, Kohlwes called his election to the board “an honor and a privilege,” saying he looks forward to helping advance the association’s mission of honoring achievements, educating youth and inspiring artists.
