Milwaukee woman turns living room into museum celebrating Black music and culture | News

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — A Milwaukee woman has turned her living room into a museum celebrating Black music, history and culture.

Antonia Anderson, curator of the Milwaukee Hip Hop Museum, has filled the space with thousands of artifacts she has collected over the years.

Our Milwaukee affiliate, WISN, recently caught up with Anderson to learn more about the collection.

“I started with five — maybe now 10,000,” Anderson said, describing how many artifacts she has gathered.

Her collection includes 8-track tapes, cassette tapes, vinyl albums, posters and magazines such as Word Up! and Write On!, highlighting the artists and influences that helped shape Black music.
