Milan Fashion Week 2026: Prada’s layered looks, Max Mara, and Meryll Rogge’s Marni debut

Day three of Milan Fashion Week was packed with shows and presentations from brands including Prada and Max Mara but the most awaited show of the day was Marni, where Belgian designer Meryll Rogge made her debut.

Here is the lowdown on the three shows.

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, who co-design Prada, had the simplest yet most clever idea for the fall/winter 2026 show, attended by celebrities such as Love Story’s actress Sarah Pidgeon, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg with his wife Priscilla Chan.

The collection consisted of 15 looks, although each look was literally full of layers. Models such as Bella Hadid and Liu Wen walked the entire length of the runway four times, shedding one layer of clothing each time to unveil what was underneath. You can only imagine the frenzy as each of them quickly undressed backstage to go back out again.

A trench coat accessorised with a striped wool scarf revealed a printed skirt and eventually men’s boxers. A wool zippered cardigan hid a turquoise dress in Prada’s signature satin and finally a black nylon slip.

You get the idea.

The designers wanted to showcase how clothes are worn on a daily basis, as you go about your day and remove things or put them on.

This idea of peeling the layers was also evident in some of the garments themselves, like a trench coat exposing visible fragments of tweed underneath. It recalled the surface of a decaying wall.
