1 of Quentin Tarantino’s Most Brutal Movies Will Soon Arrive on Peacock

Quentin Tarantino’s breakout crime thriller is heading back into the streaming spotlight. The gritty heist drama, led by Harvey Keitel, will begin streaming on Peacock soon. Reservoir Dogs marked Tarantino’s feature directorial debut and quickly built a reputation for sharp dialogue, raw violence, and a stripped-down storytelling style that changed indie cinema in the 1990s.

Reservoir Dogs starts streaming on Peacock in March

Reservoir Dogs lands on Peacock starting March 31 (via Comicbook.com). The 1992 crime thriller tracks a crew of strangers hired for a diamond heist that falls apart fast. The film skips the robbery itself and focuses on the aftermath of the botched heist. The criminals start pointing fingers and scrambling to uncover who sold them out to the cops.

Harvey Keitel leads as Mr. White. The stacked cast also features Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Chris Penn, and Lawrence Tierney. Quentin Tarantino also takes on a supporting role.

The film reportedly came together on a lean budget of about $1.2 million. It pulled in around $2.9 million worldwide during its first theatrical run (via Box Office Mojo). That box office total did not break records, but the story did not end there. The movie picked up major steam on home video. Word of mouth did the heavy lifting, and fans kept passing it along. Over time, it built a loyal following and turned into a cult favorite. Many now see it as one of the key indie films of the 1990s.

Critics showed strong support from the start. The film holds a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also carries an 8.3 out of 10 score on IMDb. Those numbers highlight its long-term influence. Reviewers praised the sharp screenplay. They praised the bold, non-linear storytelling and also pointed to the raw, intense performances. At the same time, some viewers pushed back on the graphic violence.

More than three decades later, Reservoir Dogs remains one of Tarantino’s most influential works. Its arrival on Peacock gives new viewers a chance to see the film that launched one of Hollywood’s most distinctive directors.
