New Studio Display may have higher-end model with these upgrades, per leak

Rumors indicate Apple has two new Studio Display models in the works, launching as soon as next week. Here’s what leaked Apple code says the higher-end model might include.

Apple might offer Studio Display in high-end and low-end models

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has long indicated that Apple has not one, but two new Mac displays in active development. And both are expected to launch soon.

Features rumored for at least one new Studio Display are 120Hz ProMotion support, HDR, and an A19 chip.

But leaked Apple code indicates that one of the two displays might offer higher-end features.

Based on this code, 9to5Mac’s Jeff Benjamin recently noted that “One of the displays will feature a larger module, indicating larger, more powerful speakers and, thus, a larger display.”

You can watch Jeff’s iOS 26.4 beta 2 video below for more details.

Today at Macworld, Filipe Espósito added that the higher-end display “supports more I/O controllers,” which indicates it could offer more advanced ports.

So the second Studio Display could offer more powerful speakers, upgraded I/O, and possibly a larger screen.

Offering a second size option makes a lot of sense. But it’s also possible Apple plans to offer two displays with differing features but the same 27-inch screen size.

That could perhaps explain the rumor of a 90Hz Studio Display model. Maybe the low-end model only supports 90Hz, while the high-end ‘Pro’ option goes to 120Hz.

With Apple product launches coming next week, here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to find out.

Would you prefer Apple offer two different sizes of Studio Display, or just differentiate via internal specs and pricing? Let us know in the comments.
