Greece reaffirmed its position as one of the world’s most beloved destinations after receiving multiple distinctions at the Travvy Awards 2025 – widely regarded as the “Oscars” of the US travel industry.
The annual event, organized by TravelPulse and the Northstar Travel Group, celebrates excellence in global tourism as voted by thousands of travel advisors and industry professionals.
At this year’s ceremony, held on November 6 at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, Greece won Gold for Best Destination – Mediterranean, Gold for Best Cruise Destination – Europe and Silver for Best Destination – Europe.
The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) also earned Bronze for Best Tourism Board – Europe, marking another major recognition of Greece’s ongoing appeal and the GNTO’s strategic promotional work in key international markets.
According to the GNTO, these awards underscore the trust and appreciation of global travelers for Greece’s hospitality, safety, and the authentic experiences that make it a destination of choice.
Representing the GNTO at the ceremony were Konstantinos Charokopos, Head of GNTO North America and Faye Georgousi of the same office.
“Such honors reflect the collective efforts of the GNTO, tourism professionals, and all who work to showcase the unique experience Greece offers,” said Charokopos. “Greek tourism continues to inspire and stand out on the global stage.”
Additional recognition at the Recommend Readers’ Choice Awards
Greece’s success extended beyond the Travvys, earning Silver for Best Overall Destination – Europe at the 2025 Recommend Readers’ Choice Awards.
Italy claimed Gold, while France and Spain shared Bronze. The results, based on votes by travel advisors and readers of Recommend magazine, further affirm Greece’s strong position among North American travelers seeking culture, gastronomy, and premium travel experiences.
