Like all the best streaming services, Netflix rolls out plenty of new TV shows and movies throughout the year, but only a select few make it to the top 10 most-viewed, especially with older movies making their way to Netflix and dominating.
With that said, not every movie that makes Netflix’s most-streamed list is a must-watch. A great example is “The Expendables 4,” which is near the top of the list but hardly a good movie, with a 14% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Best movies in the Netflix top 10
‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (2025)
Today, we’re looking at the newer, live-action version of “How to Train Your Dragon.” It follows the plot of the original animated movie, introducing us to Hiccup (Mason Thames), a youngster from the isle of Berk (a Viking settlement at odds with dragons), who befriends a lovable Night Fury dragon called Toothless.
Nico Parker and Gerard Butler round out the top of the cast. It’s clearly making waves after arriving on Netflix a couple of weeks ago, and it’ll be easy to understand why once you sit down and watch it this week. With its 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it stands out as one of the better live-action remakes of a classic animated movie (I like “Lilo & Stitch” better myself, but I’m a bit of a Stitch super-fan).

‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ (2025)
I don’t generally like animated movies. I don’t like movies with excessive singing, as they tend to suck me out of the plot. Yet somehow, I love “Kpop Demon Hunters.” A movie I watched simply because my 9-year-old wanted to, ended up grabbing me and keeping me hooked from start to finish — I even enjoyed the songs that are way outside of the deathcore and hardcore music I typically listen to.
For popularity, it’s hard to beat “KPop Demon Hunters,” as it’s the most popular Netflix title of all time. According to Nielsen, it has 20.5 billion minutes of watch time in 2025, ranking as the year’s most-streamed film. It’s a popular movie that lives up to the hype.

‘Homefront’ (2013)
Phil Broker (Jason Statham) is a retired DEA agent looking to make a life for himself and his daughter in a small town. But as these things go for action heroes, things don’t go as smoothly as planned, as a meth dealer named “Gator” (Jason Franco) seeks to expand his drug empire at the former DEA agent’s expense.
Aside from the stellar cast, which also features Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, Frank Grillo and Chuck Zito, Sylvester Stallone wrote the script based on the novel of the same name by Chuck Logan. Reviews aren’t the best, but it’s a wildly entertaining romp that I found much more enjoyable than its 42% on Rotten Tomatoes lets on. And apparently, the Netflix community agrees, as it’s spent three weeks in the Netflix top 10.
