More than 10 years before Melania Trump would become the first lady and start wearing elegant, tailored suits, she had a bolder sense of fashion. One glaring example is the sensational, but somewhat suggestive, black dress she wore for Fashion Group International’s 22nd Annual “Night of Stars,” in October 2005, when she accompanied husband Donald. Her garment choice was daring not only because of its lingerie-like top but also because Melania was pregnant with her son, Barron, at the time.
While the gown’s length was appropriate for a festive occasion, the bodice seemed provocative. The sheer bust, along with the delicate hanging straps, made the frock more akin to a lace slip dress worn in bed or during an intimate moment. Melania paired the garment with dazzling diamond chandelier earrings as well as diamond bracelets. And though she arrived in a black and white fur wrap, she ditched the coat later in the evening and let her dress do all the talking.
This wouldn’t be the only time that the former model would wear shocking apparel. Even when Donald Trump became president, she went for audacious attire. In fact, Melania’s spiciest dress of her husband’s second term turned heads. The Slovenia native has often taken fashion risks — all in the spirit of slaying — and while that’s laudable, Melania’s most ill-fitting outfits are hard to ignore. While there were some style misses, Melania kept her siren-like approach to dressing during her pregnancy.
Melania frequently wore va-va-voom maternity clothing
Melania Trump showed no signs of stopping her sexy ways when she became pregnant with son Barron Trump. Barron was born on March 20, 2006, so during Melania’s October 2005 appearance at the “Night of Stars” event, she was four months pregnant. At other occasions during her pregnancy, Melania stayed firmly in the hot-mom lane, rocking looks that were risqué enough to give her a major wow factor.
In November 2005, when she was five months pregnant, Melania unveiled the 2007 Cadillac Escalade at Milk Studios in New York City, wearing a silver satin dress with a plunging neckline. The dress, which cut off just at the knees, was another lingerie look, amplified by the garment’s satin texture and the cleavage-revealing, sleeveless upper portion. She went for a daring design again in December 2005, when she attended a Fashion Elite event honoring Andre Leon Talley. Melania’s black dress featured spaghetti straps, with additional straps that fell off her shoulders. The revealing top and the wispy fabric echoed the boudoir-style dresses that she favored during her pregnancy. In the years to come, Melania would try all sorts of fashion trends, even going through a period of dull, somber styles while in the White House. As a result, Melania sported some outfits that had us yawning, because we knew she could do better. While her pregnancy clothing was certainly sultry, at least it wasn’t boring.
