Forest want £100m for Anderson

The Sun believes that Nottingham Forest want to get £100 million should they sell Manchester United target Elliot Anderson.

United have been linked with the 22-year-old for much of the last year, with Adam Wharton another option.

The paper states: “Forest are eyeing an unlikely £100 million for Anderson which would break United’s current transfer record, £89m for Paul Pogba in 2016.

“The 22-year-old midfielder is one of the Premier League’s most exciting young talents and firmly on Ruben Amorim’s radar after impressing in Forest’s clash with United at the City Ground.

“Anderson dominated against United, showing the control, energy and maturity that Amorim’s side have been sorely lacking in midfield.

“Anderson isn’t the only English midfielder being monitored, with Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton also on United’s list.”

Liverpool keen on Schlotterbeck

Liverpool could move for Borussia Dortmund central defender Nico Schlotterbeck, according to the Mirror.

The paper was reporting on stories from Germany which suggest the 25-year-old will not renew his deal at the Bundesliga side.

The paper writes: “Liverpool are on red alert after it emerged that Nico Schlotterbeck is refusing to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund. The Premier League champions want to sign a centre-back in 2026, with Ibrahima Konate’s deal set to expire at the end of this season.

“Marc Guehi was their top target in the summer transfer window but the move collapsed on deadline day. Liverpool had their bid of £35 million accepted before Crystal Palace suddenly decided not to sell at the eleventh hour.

“With his own contract expiring next summer, Guehi will be free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club when the January transfer window opens. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all been linked, presenting Liverpool with hot competition.

“Schlotterbeck, 25, is an alternative option for the Reds after three and a half impressive seasons in Dortmund. Liverpool’s chances have now received a boost, as the Germany international is reportedly refusing to extend his contract which expires in 2027.

“The reason, according to Bild, is tension with Dortmund manager Niko Kovac. Schlotterbeck is said to be unhappy with Kovac’s pragmatic style of play.”

United linked with Toney move

Concerns over Benjamin Sesko’s knee injury, suffered against Tottenham, have seen Manchester United linked with a new striker.

The Daily Star believes that player could be Al Ahli forward Ivan Toney, with Joshua Zirkzee leaving.

The paper explains: “While insiders suggest the problem is not believed to be serious, there are rumours that United might need to look for another striker in the January transfer window. One name being floated as a potential target is Al Ahli’s Ivan Toney.

“The 29-year-old had a three-year stint in the Premier League with Brentford, netting 36 top-flight goals in 83 appearances, before making the move to Saudi Arabia last summer. Since his switch to the Middle East, Toney has been in exceptional form, scoring 41 times in 59 matches.

“Should United opt for Toney as a replacement for the injured Sesko, he would take up the No. 9 role in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation, with current second-choice striker Joshua Zirkzee likely to move on.

“Toney would be flanked by his former Brentford teammate Bryan Mbeumo on the right and Matheus Cunha on the left.”

Silva to start talks over new Fulham deal

Fulham manager Marco Silva is set to discuss terms on a new contract to stay at the club.

Owner Shahid Khan is reportedly in England in order to hold talks with the Portuguese coach.

The i Paper reports: “Fulham owner Shahid Khan is in London for fresh talks with Marco Silva over a new contract.

“The i Paper understands that talks are scheduled for this week with Silva’s representatives over extending a deal that runs out in the summer – with Fulham seemingly keen to resolve the uncertainty over their manager’s future after a disappointing run of results that has seen them lose five of their six Premier League games.

“That has left the Cottagers just a point above the relegation zone and there has been speculation that they are considering their managerial options amid frustration that Silva is yet to commit his future to the club.”
