Detroit Pistons’ Tobias Harris plays long game in building NBA career

Orlando, Fla. — When prospects enter the NBA at a young age, becoming an All-Star, All-NBA player and an all-time great typically top their bucket list.

For Tobias Harris, however, his primary goal was to exceed the average lifespan of an NBA career. When the Milwaukee Bucks added Harris in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft (No. 19 overall) via a trade, the average length of an NBA career was four to five years.
