WHEELING – Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack celebrated the grand opening of its new Light & Wonder Lounge on Thursday.
The premier, high-energy gaming lounge features the latest innovations from global gaming leader Light & Wonder. The new video slot/gaming lounge, located near the High Limit room on the casino floor, boasts a collection of some of the most popular titles and cutting-edge hardware available in the gaming industry today.
“We are so excited we created a partnership with Light & Wonder to create this 72-space lounge with some of the best slot titles you’re going to find in the country,” Kim Florence, president and general manager of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, said. “This is a really unique curation of game titles that are the most sought-after. It’s bringing a Las Vegas-style experience right here to the city of Wheeling in West Virginia.”
Florence said the exclusive game library offered in the new gaming lounge offers the newest versions of fan-favorite franchises and the latest immersive player technology.
The effort to create this new premier gaming area in the casino took place over the past six weeks, when teams from the gaming company and the venue partnership collaborated to create a “best-in-class gaming experience.”
Executives from Light & Wonder, Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and its parent company Delaware North were on hand Thursday night for a ribbon cutting ceremony and champagne toast to celebrate the official grand opening of the new Light & Wonder Lounge.
In April, the company will debut the new Lightwave cabinet, which is designed to provide an immersive, player-centric experience featuring a 49-inch curved portrait monitor integrated into a synchronized visual presentation that responds to in-game events in real-time.
Florence said there will be more new featured gaming units added to the Light & Wonder Lounge throughout the year at Wheeling Island.
