The Cleveland Cavaliers (39-25) had a seven-game homecourt winning streak stopped on Sunday and now on Monday night will host the Philadelphia 76ers (34-29) at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. The Cavaliers enter play 1.5 games behind the New York Knicks for third place in the Eastern Conference, while Philadelphia enters in eighth place but one game behind the sixth place Orlando Magic. The Sixers lost point guard Tyrese Maxey to a sprained finger on Saturday, while center Joel Embiid remains sidelined with an oblique injury.

Cleveland lost at home for the first time since Jan. 19 in a 109-98 defeat at the hands of the visiting Boston Celtics on Sunday. Donovan Mitchell returned from a groin injury to score 30 points, but the Cavs weren’t able to dig out of a 26-point hole. Evan Mobley finished with 24 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots and James Harden added 19 points and 10 assists.
The 76ers went cold in the second half on Saturday night, shooting 42.5 percent after shooting 65.2 percent in the opening 24 minutes in their 125-116 road loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Maxey scored 31 points to go with four steals before leaving in the final minute with a finger injury. Quentin Grimes tossed in 26 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. went for 24.
The Cavaliers look to complete a four-game season sweep of Philadelphia on Monday night. Mitchell averages 28.6 points, while Harden has put up 19.1 points and 8.1 assists per game in 10 games with the team after a trade from the LA Clippers. Mobley gets 17.8 points and 8.7 rebounds a night. Rookie VJ Edgecombe, who didn’t play Saturday with a bruised back, posts averages of 15.4 points and 3.9 assists, with Oubre scoring 14.5 points per game and Andre Drummond grabbing 8.5 boards an outing.
