Finance shares gained the most on New Zealand’s Exchange, rising almost 3% by midday Tuesday.
Westpac Banking (ASX:WBC, NZE:WBC) gained more than 3% in recent trade as Australian banks’ shares rose after an Australian Banking Association report said that scam-fighting tech has been successful in preventing risky transfers.
Meanwhile, non-energy minerals shares fell more than 1%.
Shares of Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI, NZE:SMI) drove the decline, falling more than 2% in recent trade.
