If you don’t know the name Beca Michie, go check your Instagram feed to make sure. The creator and model has been everywhere lately—from their hilarious cameo in InStyle‘s The Intern series to their ubiquitous street style gracing saved folders worldwide. Michie’s personal style is youthful, nonchalant, and highly covetable, so it should come as no surprise that the ultimate Italian cool-girl brand, Blumarine, tapped them for its latest show at Milan Fashion Week.
On February 27, the fashion house debuted a vampy Fall/Winter 2026 collection designed by creative director David Koma. Moody florals, decadent ruffles, and rose-red gowns hit the catwalk next to checkered furs and elegant lace. In Look 30, Michie walked wearing an opulent fur one-piece and embellished boots. It was their first-ever MFW runway moment, and the perfect look for a stylish debut.
“Walking the Blumarine show was one of those moments where everything, the preparation, the nerves, the glam, the chaos backstage, comes together for a few unforgettable seconds on the runway,” the model tells InStyle. “It’s kind of crazy how so much work leads up to that one walk, but that’s the magic of it. I left [the show] feeling so grateful, proud, and honestly still a little in awe that I got to be part of something so beautiful.”
Ahead, Michie brings InStyle behind the scenes of what it’s like to walk the runway in Milan. Ahead, see their Milan Fashion Week diary for the Blumarine show.
12:30 PM – Day Before the Show

“The fitting itself was surreal. The first look they dressed me in at the fitting…and I already KNEW I had to walk in her. Are you kidding?? We tried on this look and another dress as an option, but this look made me feel so powerful. The boots, the butterfly wings…I felt unstoppable.”
“I always get so excited seeing my name on the board alongside such beautiful models. The look was very on-brand, soft, romantic, but bold, powerful, and confident. I loved that my look had that signature edge. When I first put it on, I instantly stood taller. The team adjusted everything perfectly to my body. And I remember being so excited to see it all come together with hair and makeup the next day. I felt like I wasn’t just wearing the outfit; I was becoming the Blumarine girl.”

Clearly, David [Koma] thought the same. I was soo excited to be a part of his vision for the show. I was so honored he trusted me with such a beautiful look.
8 AM – Day of the Show

“Now, it’s 8 am, the morning of the show, and I am glammeddd to the gods. This glitter gold smoky eye was so good. All of the models had the same makeup look, and all of the other girls looked so major in it. I always make sure I’m rested, hydrated, and stretching the day before a show so I feel strong and steady. You never want to leave a show thinking, “damn, if only I got good sleep last night.”

“We walked over to the venue from where we were doing glam, and we all got to see our dressing stations. It never gets old seeing your face on the board. I am sooo ready to serve this look justice.”

“All of the other girls were also KILLING it in their Blumarine looks. It surprised me how calm the chaos was backstage. It looks wild from the outside with the racks of clothes, hair dryers going, makeup artists everywhere, but backstage at Blumarine felt like controlled magic. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing. And everyone is usually surprised to know how supportive everyone always is of each other backstage. For a few hours, you are all family.”

“Time to practice our walk. We were told to walk like we just lit our ex’s house on fire…so I channeled that energy.”

“My heart is always racing right before I step out on a runway. But as soon as my ‘fit hits, it switches. No nerves, I just blackout and think about the emotions I’m supposed to evoke, and I’m honestly thinking, Left, right, left, right. Look mad Beca. Sometimes people ask me, “Did you see this person at the show?” and I always say no because I see no faces or anyone around me when I walk out. I kind of black out on the runway. I’m just focused on the few feet in front of me until it’s over. There’s something so special about feeling all the preparation and work that led to that one single moment of walking.”

“And so the show was finished. We all walked our butts off in beautiful looks, and I can’t believe I was able to be a part of such a beautiful show, feeling so beautiful and powerful.”

“After the show, I went to my hotel, ordered a pizza and a bolognese, and called my mom to tell her all about it. My family from Ecuador was texting me in our family group chat the whole time. It never gets old seeing how proud they are of me.”
