Ah, the no black T-shirt philosophy. I love it. What do you hope someone feels when they wear something you’ve recommended? I want my clients to feel confident and self-assured in how they’re presenting themselves to the world. If getting dressed feels easier, less stressful and they walk into their day, especially their workplace, with their head held a little higher, then I’ve done my job.
What key principles do you keep in mind when creating a look? Fit is always the first thing I consider—it’s truly nonnegotiable. No matter how beautiful or expensive a piece is, if it doesn’t fit well, it won’t look polished or pulled together. From there, I think about proportion and balance. How do pieces work together on the body? How do these proportions help balance a specific body type? I also want to focus on dimension and layering. Outerwear is often treated as an afterthought, but for me, a jacket is essential.

What trends are you most excited about? I’m excited to see a shift away from overly restrained quiet luxury toward pieces that feel more expressive and fun. Embellished denim, in particular, is an excellent example of that; you’ll notice a lot of rhinestone jeans right now. What I love is that it’s still very wearable yet adds personality and visual interest. I’m drawn to the return of a slightly playful prep-school influence, with pieces like argyle sweaters and loafers reimagined in a modern way. These trends feel exciting because they invite people to have fun with their style again, while still keeping looks classic.
What’s next for you? I’m excited to introduce a concierge-level styling service designed for clients who want a more seamless, high-touch experience. This VIP offering will allow me to work with clients on an ongoing basis—shopping for them consistently and curating seasonal outfits and lookbooks each quarter.
Tell us about your role at the Fur Ball. I’ve been on the board of the Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) since 2022 and am honored to be this year’s Fur Ball chair. I keep my committee informed about all the great updates regarding the event, including sponsorships and logistics. Aside from being [at the event] with 600 other dog and cat lovers raising money for an organization we love, I’m most excited to celebrate our event’s honoree, Dr. Cristie Kamiya, who is our chief of shelter medicine and led HSSV to become the country’s first model shelter.
