The Waverly Chamber Music Series (WCMS) will conclude its 2025-26 season on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. with a performance by the internationally acclaimed Boston Trio at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & School in Waverly.
Praised by The Boston Globe with the enthusiastic recommendation, “Whenever this trio plays, drop everything and go hear them!”, the Boston Trio is celebrated for its superb ensemble, expressive depth, and daring performances of both beloved masterworks and contemporary repertoire.
The trio is made up of three distinguished artists: violinist Irina Muresanu, cellist Mihai Marica, and pianist Heng-Jin Park. Each maintains a vibrant career as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, with appearances alongside major orchestras and at leading festivals throughout the United States and Europe.
In recent seasons, the Boston Trio has appeared at major venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the Newport Classical Music Festival, Maui Classical Music Festival, Sanibel Music Festival, and the Halcyon Music Festival. The ensemble has also collaborated widely, including performances of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Boston Philharmonic.
Deeply committed to expanding the chamber music repertoire, the Boston Trio actively champions new music and has premiered numerous works written specifically for them. Their latest recording, Elegy and Blue, was released on the Centaur label to critical acclaim.
Education and community engagement are central to the trio’s mission. The Boston Trio has held residencies at Dickinson College, Gordon College, and Luther College, and has coached chamber music at the Tanglewood Institute, Harvard University, and MIT. The trio has also served as Ensemble-in-Residence at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the New England Conservatory. Through outreach performances in schools and assisted living centers, they work to bring chamber music to broader and more diverse audiences.
