He defeated arch-rival Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers. Although Doncic performed a 35-point masterclass in New York, Wembanyama remained the dominant asset. He recorded 38 points and 16 rebounds against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.

Tyler Herro earned the Eastern Conference honor for the Miami Heat. He returned to health after early-season injuries. Herro averaged 26.3 points, and Miami is on a five-game win streak.
In a post-game press conference, following a win over the Rockets, Wembanyama said that rest and film study facilitate his swift success. The center reported feeling more in control of his play compared to Jan.
“Conditioning gets better when you combine this with the study of game film and a will to not repeat the mistakes,” Wembanyama said.

San Antonio recently defeated the Houston Rockets with 145 points. Wembanyama said he can trust his team to play with amity. He also impacts the play as a decoy, even when he does not touch the ball.
Wembanyama viewed comments from Jaylen Brown as a mark of respect. Brown called him a non-human two-way player.
“No, I agree,” he said. I see in this mark of respect obviously, but I’m trying to [show] that doesn’t mean much to me.”
Wembanyama is optimistic about winning the 2026 Most Valuable Player trophy. He also seeks the Defensive Player of the Year accolade.
