Sterling Scholar Runner-up – Wachaykeah Martin – Whitehorse – Science

Wachaykeah has always been fond of science and enjoys researching different hypotheses and making discoveries through research. This curiosity led to research on food safety which Wachaykeah shared with several hundred community members at school performances as well as KNDN broadcasts. Her work across scientific disciplines resulted in a Presidential CTE nomination, one of five scholars representing Utah. She hopes to make a good role model for the people in her community and to influence people to persevere through any challenges they may face. She is the daughter of Kevin and Mabel Martin. The Science runner up, Wachaykeah Martin, is from Montezuma Creek.
