The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) has issued a record fine worth €24.8m [$28.9m] to Novatech, operator of the Qbet and 55Bet brands.

Additionally, the authority levied a further fine of €1.8m [$2.1m] against Fortaprime SRL, which operates brands including Amonbet, Supraplay, Bilucky, Gxspins, Kaasino, Hiddenjack and Luckymax7.

KSA investigators found that customers in the Netherlands could create player accounts and make deposits at all of the above brands, despite the operators not holding local licenses to offer gambling in the country.

At the time of its investigation, the KSA said no technical measures were in place to prevent access from the Netherlands, while it also identified several aggravating violations.
