(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University has earned a spot among the top online computer science bachelor’s programs in the country, coming in at number 17 in TechGuide’s latest national rankings
TechGuide, which publishes data-backed rankings, bases its evaluations on figures reported annually to the U.S. Department of Education. The ranking methodology considers admission selectivity, class size, faculty support, financial aid availability, graduation outcomes and total enrollment.
“This ranking reflects the program’s excellence and impact in preparing students for success in computer science careers,” said Dr. Gareth John, dean of the College of Science and Engineering at SCSU. “The department does exceptional work in engaging students within the program.”
SCSU’s online computer science program prepares students for careers at the forefront of technology, beginning with foundational programming, data structures, operating systems, digital logic, algorithms and ethics. Students later choose from advanced specialization tracks including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, distributed systems, database systems, parallel computing, networks and software engineering.
The only other Minnesota institution to appear in TechGuide’s top 25 was Concordia University-Saint Paul, which ranked 10th.
