WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The Azalea Festival Spring Fashion Show is back this weekend at Lumina on Wrightsville Beach.
The event features models on the runway displaying spring fashions designed to inspire outfits for Azalea Festival Week activities, including the Garden Party, the black-tie Patrons’ Gala, and the Festival Concerts.
Tracy Mullins, fashion show chair, and Chris Gore, vice president of the North Carolina Azalea Festival, appeared on WECT to discuss the event.
Mullins said the show is designed to support local businesses and help attendees plan outfits for festival events.
“It’s all about supporting local businesses and just getting ready for the Azalea Festival and getting all your outfits ready for all of the super fun events,” Mullins said.
Guests can participate in a raffle featuring gift baskets and other prizes, available only to fashion show guests. Outside food and beverage is not permitted.
A hot chocolate truck will be on site, and guests with specific dietary concerns may contact the festival by email.
VIP check-in begins on Sunday, March 15, at 11 a.m. and general admission check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are available through the festival’s online ticketing system, Etix.
General admission includes a brunch buffet and two drink tickets, while VIP includes front-row seating, a brunch buffet and three drink tickets. Both ticket tiers include a complimentary vendor swag bag.
Hors d’oeuvres and a vendor expo begin at noon, with the fashion show starting at 1 p.m. The event is expected to conclude at 4 p.m.
Professional photographers will be on site and photos will be available for purchase online after the event. Flash photography by guests is not permitted.
Free parking is available at Lumina at Wrightsville Beach. ADA parking is available with the appropriate pass. The venue offers ADA-accessible entry via elevator. Guests with special physical requirements are asked to contact the festival office at least one week before the event by email.
“We just wanted to inspire people,” Gore said. “I wanted to give a nod to the local businesses so that people in our area could see where to go to get their fashion for a garden party, for a patron’s party, and every party that we have as a festival.”
