Greece Inflation Rate Rises to 2.7% — TradingView News


The annual inflation rate in Greece accelerated to 2.7% in February 2026 from 2.5% in January, marking the highest reading since last August. Inflation mainly accelerated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.2% vs 4.5%) and housing and utilities (2.6% vs 2.1%).

Price growth also picked up for clothing and footwear (10.1% vs 8.0%), health (0.5% vs 0.4%), and transport (1.0% vs 0.9%).

In contrast, costs rose at a softer pace for recreation, sport and culture (1.5% vs 2.0%) and restaurants and accommodation services (6.5% vs 6.8%), while they stalled for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.0% vs 2.0%) and furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (0.0% vs -0.5%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.1%, rebounding from a 0.8% decline in January.

Meanwhile, the EU-harmonized annual inflation rate picked up to 3.1%, the highest reading since last August, and up from 2.9% previously.
