Renny Harlin’s Shark Attack Movie ‘Deep Water’ Rated R for Violent Content & Bloody Images


Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Dead SnowViolent Night) is back with new shark attack horror movie Thrash, and it’s swimming exclusively to Netflix on the road to Summer 2026. Look for Thrash on Netflix April 10!

First announced as Beneath the Storm, the film was originally set for a theatrical release from Sony. It was then given the new title Shiver, but the film was ultimately pulled from Sony’s theatrical release schedule and sent over to Netflix instead. At Netflix, it has become Thrash.

Phoebe Dynevor (“Bridgerton”), Whitney Peak (Hocus Pocus 2), and Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Part II) star in Tommy Wirkola’s Thrash. Check out the first images below.

In Thrash, “When a Category 5 hurricane decimates a coastal town, the storm surge brings devastation, chaos…and something far more frightening: hungry sharks.”

The cast also includes Alyla Browne, Stacy Clausen, Costa D’Angelo, Amy Mathews, Elijah Ungvary, Dante Ubaldi, Jon Prasida, Gemma Dart, Akosia Sabet, Sian Luxford and Sami Afuni.

The film is rated “R” for “Bloody violent content, some grisly images, and language.”
