The City of Oakland will honor two-time Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu Thursday, but she’s currently wrapping up a trip to her first Paris Fashion Week.
The figure skater appeared outside of the Louvre for the Louis Vuitton Show, where she had a reunion with fellow Oakland native Zendaya.
Both attended Oakland School for the Arts, although Zendaya attended about a decade earlier.
Regarding Liu’s return home, the city is planning an elaborate celebration from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Frank Ogawa Plaza outside Oakland City Hall.
