The Two Lips

Thursday 12, Emo’s

This Los Angeles-based duo displays a natural chemistry despite not meeting each other until 2022. Their debut EP, girl, c’mon!, couples dreamy, bedroom pop vocals with personal subject matter (“cup of tea”). Jewlz and Andrea will also perform at Sips & Sounds Music Festival on Friday.

SXSBreaks

Friday 13, Lefty’s Brick Bar

The Breaks duo Confucius Jones and Aaron “Fresh” Knight highlight the local rap scene with another edition of their official, but free, SXSW showcase. This year’s SXSBreaks features veteran heavyweights such as J Soulja, Kydd Jones, Blakchyl, and Anastasia Hera at the top of its bill. Openers include Faaris (“BANDWAGON”), an Austinite who rhymes over pop-friendly instrumentation. The Pakistani American currently has three songs counting 1-million-plus streams on Spotify. Another opener is Projectbabyjv, three weeks removed from the release of his new EP Heartbreaks N Heartaches, Vol. 2.

SoCo Stomp

Wednesday 18 – Sunday 22, C-Boy’s Heart & Soul

The fourth annual SoCo Stomp maintains its growing reputation as one of the better multiday events during our version of March Madness, with 50 acts set to grace the C-Boy’s stage across five days of free music. Tomar & the FCs headline Thursday.
