SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KCBD) – Back at state for a second year in a row, the No. 9 Valley Patriots made sure they would not leave empty-handed as they rolled past No. 7 Fayetteville,66-48, to capture the 1A-DI state championship inside the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Valley came out strong leading 15-11 after one and it outscored Fayetteville 15-4 in the second.
Valley had a 30-15 halftime lead shooting 50 percent from the floor in the first half. Corbin Taylor led the Patriots with 26 points and 10 rebounds. He was named the MVP.
Kanyon Taylor added 18 points and eight rebounds.
Carson Tucker finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.
