Dave Fluty has been appointed as Executive Director, Forensic Science at Oritain and will be based in Houston, TX. In this role, Fluty, a Homeland Security Today Homeland 50 Trailblazer, will spearhead the strategic direction, credibility and impact of Oritain’s forensic science capabilities across North America.
Fluty joins Oritain following a distinguished 30-year career with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Prior to his retirement in 2025, he served as the Assistant Commissioner, Laboratories and Scientific Services where he led more than 350 chemists, engineers and forensic science experts to support CBP’s 46,000-armed law enforcement Officers and Agents.
As a celebrated leader at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Fluty earned the prestigious Presidential Rank Award for his leadership, contributions and commitment to public service and CBP’s Commissioner Award for Exceptional Service and Best Practices and Innovation.
