Commerce Music Hall will officially reopen its doors Friday, March 13, marking a new chapter for live entertainment in downtown Montgomery.
Soulful country singer Kirk Jay — who placed third during Season 15 of the NBC singing competition The Voice — will headline the grand reopening celebration with a full band.
Jay’s performance will feature a genre-spanning set with popular covers ranging from country and soul to R&B and pop, along with songs from his original catalog.
The night will also include music from DJ Frosty, bringing high-energy sounds as the venue launches what organizers call a bold new chapter in Montgomery’s nightlife.
Commerce Music Hall – located at 166 Commerce Street – is one of the largest privately owned, in-house indoor entertainment venues in the area.
Jay spoke with Action 8 News anchor Estee Morrison about the fantastic music planned for the reopening event.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled from 5 to 5:30 p.m., followed by the grand reopening celebration beginning at 7 p.m.
The event is free to attend, but organizers say guests must register in advance on the venue’s website at commercemusichall.com.
