The popular AI assistant by Microsoft, Gaming Copilot, is coming to Xbox Series X/S in 2026.
Microsoft announced Xbox Copilot for gaming in March 2025 as a new tool that will become the “ultimate gaming sidekick” for players. Later in the year, it was announced that Xbox Insiders would have the opportunity to try this assistant on PCs and Windows handhelds. Now, it is on its way to consoles.
Xbox Series X/S Gaming Copilot Releases in 2026
According to a report by GamesRadar+, Sonali Yadav, Xbox’s gaming AI partner group product manager, announced the arrival of Gaming Copilot for current-gen Xbox consoles at GDC 2026. Yadav stated that it will arrive “later this year” and they will “continue to bring it to more services that players are playing.” Though the platforms weren’t confirmed, the company’s current-gen consoles are the Xbox Series X/S.
For those wondering about Xbox Gaming Copilot’s capabilities, it can currently provide players with gaming recommendations based on the games they are playing and their gaming history. The AI assistant will help players overcome obstacles and level up their gameplay. You can also ask Gaming Copilot for help, brainstorm strategies, and get tips or insights with personalized coaching. There’s also a voice conversation option available.
In other news, Microsoft is deleting all traces of the ‘This is an Xbox’ marketing campaign. Additionally, the Game Preservation team has teased the return of “iconic” games with “new ways to play”.
