Fallout: Chicago Demo Appears Online with New Trailer

It’s a busy time for Fallout fans. We’re just weeks beyond the latest trailer for Fallout: The New West, the most ambitious full-game conversion mod we’ve seen in a hot minute, and now, a fresh trailer has dropped for Fallout: Chicago. This DLC-sized expansion (also a mod) is another bid to broaden New Vegas’ horizons, and a demo has just been released by the team making it.

MadMailMan Studios has today published a new demo for Fallout: Chicago on Nexus Mods. Fans eager to sink their teeth into more user-generated content can do so right now, exclusively on PC. This demo comes a year and a half after the initial reveal of Fallout: Chicago.

What is Fallout: Chicago?

Fallout: Chicago is an ambitious DLC-sized mod for 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas. In the opening release trailer, we got the best look possible at what players should expect:

You’ll set out to solve pre war mysteries, post war politics between The Union Mob and Midwest Brotherhood along with other factions dilemmas. Chicago is dangerous and fraught with betrayal do you have what it takes to make it out on your mission, hell this was supposed to be a side job after all?

These days, fan-made mods offer some of the deepest and most innovative experiences in the Fallout space. The United West Team just released a playable intro for Fallout: The New West, a hugely ambitious game-sized mod that has drawn the attention of one of New Vegas’ most acclaimed writers, Chris Avellone.

It was noted on Nexus Mods, where you’ll find the demo, that the entire first act of the mod is included, which features three side quests and a stack of activities:

• Drug dealing
• Owning businesses
• Player homes (and customization)
• A new Chicago-based worldspace
• Four new factions

And much more.

Chicago is a prominent location in the Fallout universe. It plays host to the likes of the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave, and once upon a time, it was home to Nick Valentine, one of the most beloved companions and major story catalysts from 2015’s Fallout 4.
