Back at Madison Square Garden after a long road trip, the New York Knicks are set to host the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, March 15.
As the game approaches, the Knicks made a couple of key changes on the injury report, including upgrading the status of the veteran forward, Josh Hart.
Initially, Hart was listed as questionable with knee soreness.
Knicks Announce Update on Josh Hart vs Warriors
*UPDATE: Josh Hart has been upgraded to AVAILABLE vs Warriors on Sunday.
Hart was upgraded to probable for Sunday’s action at home against the Warriors. While that doesn’t guarantee Hart will make his return to the lineup, it’s a positive sign that he’s on pace to return as early as Sunday night.
The Knicks haven’t had Hart in the lineup since they paid a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers. At the time, Hart checked in for 36 minutes against the Clippers. He shot 5-7 from the field to score 12 points. He secured a double-double by coming down with 13 rebounds.
Despite a strong showing by Hart, the Knicks came up short with a blowout loss against the Clippers. The final score was 126-118, sending the Knicks into Salt Lake City on a two-game losing streak.
The Knicks paid a visit to the Utah Jazz on March 11. Ahead of the game, they ruled out Hart for the first time in over a month. When they closed out the road trip with a game against the Indiana Pacers two nights later, Hart was ruled out for the second straight game. It was the first time Hart missed consecutive matchups since early January.

Heading into Sunday’s game, the Knicks hold the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
With a 43-25 record, the Knicks are just 1.5 games away from the second seed. The Boston Celtics hold No. 2, while the Detroit Pistons have a 4.5-game cushion for the top seed.
The Knicks are in a favorable position facing the struggling Warriors. Lately, the Warriors have lost four games in a row. They have just three wins over their past 10 games. The Warriors rank ninth in the Western Conference and have a loaded injury report.
Jimmy Butler, Seth Curry, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, Kristaps Porzingis, and Quinten Post have all been ruled out for the Warriors.
As for the Knicks, they’ll be without Deuce McBride. Hart and Jeremy Sochan have been upgraded to probable, while Pacome Dadiet, Trey Jemison III, Dillon Jones, and Kevin McCullar Jr. are questionable.
The Knicks and the Warriors are set to tip at 8 PM ET.
