Jamiana Tan will present a collection from her brand with Runway 7 and is offering Hawaiʻi-based models the chance to walk on one of fashion’s most recognized global stages.

Representation remains central to Tan, and she is committed to bringing local talent to New York to represent Hawaiʻi on the international runway. With a limited number of runway spots available, Hilia Swim has opened applications for Hawaiʻi models interested in the opportunity.

“Opening model applications is one of the most exciting parts of this journey,” Tan said. “We want models from Hawaiʻi to have the chance to step onto a global stage and represent where they come from.”

The opportunity reflects the brand’s commitment to elevating local talent and creating access to experiences that are often difficult to reach without leaving the islands or having established industry connections.

Models interested in participating in Hilia Swim’s New York Fashion Week presentation can apply now on the Hilia Swim website. Applications close on Friday, March 20.

Hilia Swim has created a GoFundMe to raise funds that will go toward bringing the team from Hawaiʻi to New York, which comes at a significant financial cost. Those interested in becoming a corporate sponsor or supporting as a community partner can email hiliaswim1@gmail.com.
