Texas Country Music Hall of Fame announces Allen Frizzell, Don Willaims as 2026 inductees

CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) – The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame is proud to announce its 2026 inductees, honoring two legendary artists whose contributions have left a lasting mark on country music: Don Williams and Allen Frizzell. The annual Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Celebration Weekend will take place August 7-9, 2026, in Carthage, Texas, featuring a full lineup of performances, competitions, and special events.

Known as the “Gentle Giant,” Don Williams built a remarkable career defined by his smooth baritone voice and understated style. With timeless hits like “Tulsa Time,””! Believe in You,” and “Good Ole Boys Like Me,” Williams earned a devoted global following and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010. Though he passed away in 2017, his influence on country music continues to resonate with artists and fans around the world.

Allen Frizzell, a talented singer-songwriter and brother to country legends David and Lefty Frizzell, carved out his own respected place in the industry. Known for his rich vocals and authentic storytelling, Frizzell contributed both as a performer and songwriter, helping shape the sound of classic country music while carrying forward the legacy of one of country’s most influential musical families.

The celebration weekend kicks off on Friday, August 7 at the Carthage Civic Center with the John Ritter Tribute Showcase. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The showcase will feature 30 talented finalists competing for the title of Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Ambassador for 2027. Auditions for the showcase will be held on Saturday, June 27 at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, and sign-ups are now open.

The highlight of the weekend takes place on Saturday, August 8, with the Induction Show at the Carthage Civic Center. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., and the show begins at 6:00 p.m. Tickets range from $70 to $125.

This year’s celebration will feature an impressive lineup of special guests, including Clay Cooper, David Frizzell, John Schneider, Billie Jo, Luke Moody, Moe Bandy, Bobby Tomberlin, Tess Frizzell, Dallas Wayne, Linda Davis, and Lang Scott.

Also on Saturday, the KGAS Country Music Showdown will be held at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, showcasing emerging talent from across the region. The weekend concludes on Sunday, August 9, with the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Gospel Show, celebrating the roots of country music through inspiring gospel performances.
