UKIAH, CA., 3/18/26 – The 40th annual Mendocino County Science and Engineering Fair and STEAM Expo will bring together students, families and community groups to celebrate science, technology and creativity in Ukiah this Saturday.
The event will feature student research projects alongside interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, live music and local food vendors, offering opportunities for attendees of all ages to explore science and engineering in a community setting.
Organizers say the fair is designed to encourage curiosity and learning, with this year’s theme focused on exploration and discovery. Participating students will present projects that demonstrate their use of the scientific method, problem-solving and original thinking.
Projects will be evaluated by community judges, with top entries recognized during an awards ceremony and some students advancing to the California State Science and Engineering Fair.
The free event is organized by the Mendocino County Office of Education with support from local partners and volunteers. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Mendocino College, with student projects on display from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and an awards ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m.
