Netflix may have walked away from the deal with Warner Bros., but with a content budget of $20 billion, the streamer is not walking away from spending on entertainment — its current 2026 slate boasts 40 original scripted series (27 returning) and at least 50 films (and counting). At a press event Wednesday, Netflix studio chief Bela Bajaria, along with Dan Lin, chairman of film, and Jinny Howe, head of scripted series, said their goal is to continue to do quality at scale — and “invest in even more incredible writers, directors, cast and crew all over the world.”
At the event, they announced two new projects coming this year to the streamer.
