You’ve got an RTX 5050 mobile here, which is a quality card for high fps 1080p gaming, and that’s paired with an Intel Core i5 processor 1345HX, which is a surprisingly punchy CPU for gaming and multitasking. On top of that, its display is 165Hz and FHD+ resolution, and it features a solid 16GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM, too. RTX 5050 mobile graphics card
This laptop features the entry-level RTX 5050 mobile graphics card, which primarily targets high fps 1080p gaming, and is usually found in gaming laptops hovering around the $1,000 mark in most cases. It’s actually a notable upgrade from the 4050 mobile, as it’s built on the more recent Blackwell architecture, has 8GB of VRAM, compared to the 4050’s 6GB, and higher clock speeds. There are also improvements to ray-tracing and AI capabilities, courtesy of its 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which power its exclusive MFG upscaling technology, which can help improve perceived fps when playing more demanding titles.
Intel Core i5 processor 13450HX
So HX processors are usually quite high-performance, with a slight trade-off being that they can zap power fairly quickly. With this CPU, you’ve got a 4.6GHz boost clock, 20MB cache, 10 cores (6P+4E), and 16 threads. That’s a very balanced offering, especially for a laptop that’s more value-oriented. On the gaming side, it’ll be able to push out high fps at 1080p and 1440p with low frame latency, making it well-suited to the RTX 5050 mobile. On top of that, its core count lends itself well to tasks like streaming, recording video, and running background applications, like Discord, while gaming. It’s also quite well equipped to handle complex creative workflows typically encountered when using Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Blender, making it a decent option for creatives looking for faster rendering, exporting, and editing, without breaking the bank.

Display
This laptop has a 16” FHD+ display, which is excellent from a size-to-resolution perspective, as it makes everything appear crisp and detailed, without the added expense of a WQXGA panel. It’s 165Hz, which is high enough for competitive, high fps gaming, too, which is a big win considering this is where the RTX 5050 mobile is going to be at its best. It’s also 300 nits, which is bright enough for use in well-lit environments, and it’s also got 100% sRGB, which basically means that colors look saturated, vibrant, and pop off the screen.
RAM and storage
You’ve got 16GB of DDR5 here, which is great for the price, in all honesty. This is going to dramatically improve this laptop’s workstation and gaming performance, especially when editing large files, like photos and video, and playing more RAM-intensive games, like many of the popular open-world titles. In terms of storage, it’s quite small, coming in at 512GB. That’s pretty much the minimum you’d want, but it can hold a decent amount of games, provided they’re not all 100GB AAA monsters.
Things to consider
In short, the RTX 5060 mobile has more CUDA cores and is going to be around 20% faster than the 5050. I’d recommend going for this if you want superior FHD and QHD performance, but expect to pay around $1,200 to get something decent. In the past, I often spotted these laptops for under $1,000, but nowadays, that just doesn’t seem to be the norm. I do see a lot of RTX 5060 laptops go on sale, however, and I’d recommend something from MSI, Acer Nitro, or even Alienware’s Area 51 series for the most bang for your buck.
