DeColores Montessori attends 2026 Science Day


GREENVILLE — Congratulations to the Junior High Science Fair participants and teachers. Twenty seven projects were presented by students from DeColores Montessori, Arcanum-Butler, Tri-Village, Tippecanoe, and UVCC at the Darke County Science Day held at Greenville High School on Thursday, Feb. 26.

The following DeColores students: Christina C., Dean D., Ben W., Miles B., Xavier B., Levi D., Amelia H., Joshua L., Sofia R., and Emily S. prepared projects. Christina, Ben, Dean, Levi., Joshua, Sofia, and Emily received Superior ratings. Miles, Xavier, and Amelia received Excellent ratings. All participants that received a superior rating were eligible to advance to the UMV Regional Science Day at Edison Community College on Saturday, March 14.

Special Awards Presented:

BASF Awards in Behavioral Science: Second Place – Emily -$50 and Third Place- Levi-$50

BASF Award in Engineering or Computer Science: Frist Place – Ben -$100 and Third Place – Joshua – $50

Cargill Awards in Animal/Plant Environmental Science: Second Place- Caleb (DMS alum) $50

BASF Award for Best Presentation of Data – Christina – $100

Spirit of Science Award from McMurry Family – Teddy (DMS alum).- $100

BASF Overall Awards: Grand Prize – Ben – $100 and Third Prize – Emily -$50

Congratulations to Christina, Emily, Dean, Ben, Joshua, Levi and Sofia who all advanced to the regional Science Fair with their presentations at Edison Community College. Ben, Joshua and Sofia advanced the State Science Fair Finals at Edison State University.
