Boston Celtics Announce Jayson Tatum Status For Grizzlies

On Friday evening, the Boston Celtics will be in Memphis to take on the Grizzlies.

The Celtics most recently beat the Golden State Warriors (at home) by a score of 120-99.

Jayson Tatum finished the victory with 24 points, ten rebounds, two assists and one steal while shooting 7/15 from the field and 5/11 from three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

For Friday’s game, the Celtics have announced their injury report.

Tatum is not on the report (and will be available).

Noa Dalzell of CelticsBlog wrote: “Everyone on the Celtics is cleared to play tomorrow vs the Grizzlies, minus Nikola Vucevic.

Jayson Tatum will play in his 7th game (in two weeks)”

Tatum has looked very good since returning to action.

He is averaging 20.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 41.7% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range in six games so far this season.

Real App wrote (on March 18): “Jayson Tatum is top ten in 20-point games in the entire NBA since making his return.”

Celtics Ahead Of Memphis Clash

The Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 46-23 record in 69 games.

They have won seven out of their last ten games (and four in a row).

On the road, the Celtics have gone 22-13 in the 35 games they have played away from Boston.

Tatum’s play has many thinking that the Celtics could make a run to the 2026 NBA Finals.

They are coming off a year where they lost to Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The Grizzlies have had a very challenging season.

They are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 24-44 record in 68 games.

Over their last ten games, the Grizzlies have gone just 2-8 (and they are 12-20 in 32 at home in Memphis).

Following the Celtics, they will play their next game on Saturday when they visit LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina.
