A young man has been arrested in northern Greece over a violent attack that left a woman with severe head injuries at the entrance to her block of flats this week, police said Friday.
A police statement said the 20-year-old suspect faces charges of attempted homicide. The 24-year-old woman remains in critical condition in a Thessaloniki hospital after Tuesday night’s attack in the town of Veria.
The suspect is believed to have been a friend of the injured woman’s and to have met her just before the attack. Neighbors found the injured woman and called the police.
