Des Rocs is back with his most explosive work yet, a high-octane visual and anthem that encapsulates his signature theatrical rock style. The New York rocker is on the rise with success for the likes of “This Land”, that also is paving the way for his upcoming 2026 album. With a North American headline tour on the horizon, “When The Love Is Gone” gives fans a first taste of the manic energy and high-powered performances that will soon dominate.
A press release from Des Rocs’ management revealed that the new single “When The Love Is Gone” was released on February 25.
The song packs quite the punch and sets the tone for an impressive new body of work to come. RockSound hailed the tune as one that “embodies everything that is sensational about rock and roll”, while Classic Rock raved “it’s kind of like a heavier Muse being fronted by Freddie Mercury, but Rocco brings a whole load of his own bequiffed swagger, industrial flavours and fiery theatre to its fiercely groovy backbone.”
Listen to “When The Love Is Gone”:
Directed by Noel Paul, the “When The Love Is Gone” music video transforms the song’s tension and theatricality into a surreal slice of Italian-American family drama. Framed as a stage play set around a chaotic family dinner, the video finds Danny seated at the table with his parents, who relentlessly needle him about settling down and keeping a girlfriend. As the agita builds and the interrogation reaches a boiling point, Danny snaps, leaping onto the dinner table and launching into a blistering performance of the song. What follows is pure rock spectacle: meatballs flying, wine glasses crashing, and the entire room erupting into an over-the-top rock opera.

The release continues a hot streak for Des Rocs, who recently surprise-dropped “The Riders of Red Hook (Legends Never Die)” on May 6, featured throughout the broadcast of UFC 326 Holloway vs. Oliveira match. It follows “This Land,” the Borderlands 4 videogame theme, currently climbing rock radio and hitting #11 on the Mediabase Active rock chart and #15 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
Together, “When The Love Is Gone” and “This Land” offer a powerful glimpse into Des Rocs’ next evolution – bigger, louder, and more theatrical than ever. As he prepares to take these songs on the road across North America, Rocco is also putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, which he has teased will arrive in 2026 via Sumerian Records.
