Daily NBA Player Props – March 21st
Onyeka Okongwu – Over 7.5 Rebounds (-117)
Okongwu comes to us on Saturday fresh off an eight rebound game against the Rockets. That’s an impressive feat as Houston ranks first in the league in rebounding percentage and generally holds opposing centers in check. Now he’ll get a much easier matchup to fill out that side of the statsheet. The Warriors not only rank 24th in rebounding percentage, but they also love to fire away from deep. They lead the league in three-point attempts and, as a result, are 26th in field goal percentage. That should create more opportunities off the board for guys like Okongwu.
Daniel Gafford – Over 9.5 Points (-101)
I’m not sure why the books haven’t adjusted on Gafford. He’s now made it to double figures in six straight games, which includes a 24-point effort last time out against the Hawks. In that six game span, he’s averaging 17.2 points per game – well above this projection. The Clippers are an above average defensive team, but I don’t think we’ll see that far of a dropoff for the Arkansas-product.
Collin Gillespie – Over 3.5 Three-Pointers (+137)
Gillespie found his touch on Thursday, drilling six from beyond the arc on 11 attempts. He draws a Milwaukee team on Saturday that happens to be 29th in the league in terms of three-pointers allowed – and gave up four to Gillespie earlier this month. However, that’s not the only reason I like this prop. Many of the Suns three-point shooters are hurt. Dillon Brooks is out, Royce O’Neale is doubtful, and Grayson Allen is questionable. If someone is going to pick up the slack, it’s likely Gillespie.
