My Hometown Fest packs Nathan Benderson Park with music, food and drinks


SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota hosted the 11th annual My Hometown Fest on March 21 at Nathan Benderson Park, drawing community members for an afternoon of live music, local food and family-friendly activities.

The event, held from noon to 5 p.m., featured performances from several local bands, including Sweet Fleet, a tribute act dedicated to the music of Fleetwood Mac.

Organizers said the festival also included more than 30 local food vendors and restaurants, along with over 60 craft beers, spirits and THC-infused drinks.

Family-friendly activities were offered throughout the day to entertain attendees of all ages.

Attendance reached approximately 4,000 people last year, according to organizers, who said the event raised more than $55,000 to support Sertoma Kids. The organization provides therapy services focused on speech, language, literacy and social skills.
