Fremont Street Experience is peering into the future with throwback, themed parties.
Kicking off the concept is “90s House Party” at 6 p.m. April 4. This is a first-time festival of free, live performances and video displays on The Canopy, which we formerly referred to as Viva Vision, FSE’s famed LED show.
Video displays backed by classics from 90s-era rockers Blink-182 and Red Hot Chili Peppers are on the bill. The event is also the launch of Fremont Films, which draws guests into the show in real time.
Alt-rock band Deep Blue Something is booked for a live performance. The Off Axis Stunt Show will put on a BMX exhibition. Activation’s from the decade are planned across FSE, with exclusive SlotZilla zip-line discounts offered. Vegas FM radio station Mix 94.1 is the event’s “power” partner.
The House Party is the first of a series of themed events at FSE, under the stewardship of new President and CEO Cliff Atkinson. The annual Downtown Rocks series is coming back in May, the lineup to be announced soon (go to vegasexperience.com for all FSE intel).
Atkinson has reinforced the message that entertainment is the business driver at FSE. The veteran resort and hospitality exec said in a statement, “By combining immersive entertainment, new canopy content and live music with interactive guest experiences, we’re creating unique celebrations that bring different eras and cultures to life in downtown Las Vegas.”
