MANITOWOC – The Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 75th season by starting a new, nine-year “Beethoven marathon”: all nine symphonies, performed over the next nine years.
Concert to catch: ‘Beloved (1 of 9): Beethoven & Bruch’

The nine-year marathon begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11, with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 (C major, Op. 21), plus music by Mozart and Bruch.
The concert will be staged at the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc.
Local star spotlight: Violinist Andrew Dunlap

Manitowoc’s own Andrew Dunlap returns to take on Bruch’s big, bold Violin Concerto in G minor — the kind of spotlight piece Beethoven would have applauded from the front row.
Dunlap has appeared with the Madison Symphony and MSO and has performed across the U.S. and Europe.
