Dragon’s Dogma 2 Anniversary Art Seems To Tease DLC

Capcom has shared a new piece of art to celebrate Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s second anniversary, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted details that might be teasing something on the horizon.

I can’t believe it, but it’s been two whole years since Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched, despite it feeling like it wasn’t all that long ago we were all diving into Vermund for the first time. It was a sequel that was a long time coming, and even though fans finally got what they’d been waiting more than a decade for, it apparently wasn’t enough to satiate everyone.

Ever since Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched, fans have been not-so-patiently waiting for Capcom to confirm that an expansion for the game is on the way, and have somehow not lost hope after two whole years. All of that wishing might actually pay off, though, as a new piece of art that was just released seems to have a few very subtle teases.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Anniversary Art Might Be Hinting At An Expansion

Finally, The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Subreddit Can Rest

Earlier today, the official Dragon’s Dogma Twitter account celebrated the second anniversary of Dragon’s Dogma 2 with an art piece showing the Arisen and friends enjoying a big party. At first glance, it might just seem like nothing more than a cute thank you to fans, but, as pointed out by Redditor PaiDuck on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye.

85 Percent Of Gamers Haven’t Seen The Best Of Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s abrasive design may have turned players away before the game’s best reveal

The first sign that something is being subtly teased in the art is the appearance of a character who doesn’t exist in the base game, who can be seen standing behind Cliodna with their back turned. Interestingly, they appear to be wearing clothes suited for snow, which wouldn’t make much sense for the forests of Vermund or the heat of Battahl in the base game.

That’s already pretty suspicious, but things really get interesting once you spot the open letter on the table. It’s written with the Gransys alphabet and translates to, “Sightings of griffins flying in from the northern region of Organ have been confirmed”. Putting those two clues together suggests that the expansion could take place in the snowy region of Organ, perhaps featuring that mysterious character as well.

We’ll have to wait and see what Capcom is cooking up, but it does appear that the long-awaited expansion is both in the works and at a point where it’s nearly ready to be announced. That’s not bad for an anniversary present, even if most players aren’t quite connecting the dots and loudly yelling at Capcom for not releasing DLC.
